Key Issues & Projects During his time as Mayor

• Maintaining Town Charm: Chris believed that the recent capital improvements in the downtown beach area and the Commercial Blvd corridor greatly contributed to preserving Lauderdale By-The-Sea's identity as a charming quaint town.  He also emphasized the importance of supporting local restaurants, hospitality, and retail which is vital to the town's healthy economic growth.
• Infrastructure: Chris emphasized the importance of maintaining and improving the town's infrastructure, including drainage, roads, and sewers. He highlighted ongoing work such as swale restoration, street lighting, and sidewalk improvements as crucial for maintaining the town's character and home values.
• Environmental: Chris was instrumental in the preservation of our beaches, reefs, and the marine life that depend on the sensitive ecosystem that our residents enjoy as well as bringing in visitors from all over the world.  He also continued the successful sea oat and dune preservation program to help prevent beach erosion while also maintaining the natural beauty of our beaches and the environment.
• Town Complex: The idea of building a new town complex for police, fire, and EMS was considered but not deemed a top priority or economically feasible at the time. The estimated cost was significant and the focus shifted to working with and maintaining the existing facilities while pursuing grants for public safety.  
• Traffic and Parking: Chris recognized the increasing traffic flow and parking demands in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.  The town then implemented strategic land acquisitions for public parking and improving transportation options such as the Circuit EV carts as well as rideshare pick-up & drop-off destinations.

Chris will continue to advocate in Tallahassee for the towns and cities of District 100, what he's already successfully done as Mayor in the Town of Lauderdale By The Sea.
